Prayer for Israel-Palestine

In a world that God made good let us pray :

for people seeing things no human being should see
for people seized by terror no human being should experience
for people whose depths of suffering no human being should know.
God of unquenchable hope
Confirm our belief that this is not how things should be;
Affirm our belief that things can and will be different;
Strengthen our belief in Jesus
who opens the way from death to resurrection, and
Help us, as his disciples to be your agents for change in our broken world.

Amen

Prayer for Ukraine

Holy and Gracious God

We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia; for their countries and their leaders.
We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness.
We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace.
We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ.
Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine.
And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son.
Lord have mercy. Amen

CORONAVIRUS GUIDANCE

The Government is still encouraging safe behaviours to reduce the risk of infection. Our Methodist Churches will continue to consider these to help those using our buildings feel safe and welcome:

  1. By letting fresh air in if possible
  2. Wearing face coverings is optional and at the discretion of individuals. It may be suitable in crowded or enclosed spaces, particularly if ventilation is poor, to wear face coverings, particularly where you share spaces with people you do not normally meet.
  3. Anyone experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should still consider taking a test and staying at home and avoiding contact with others if the test is positive. Particularly if working in higher risk environments or with those who might be vulnerable.
  4. We continue to encourage good hygiene practice by providing hand sanitiser in convenient areas; continuing established practices of cleaning surfaces touched regularly and rooms with high use by different groups such as toilets and kitchens. We continue to encourage good hygiene when considering handling shared objects, communal resources and food & drink.

If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early: Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention by calling 111.
